Nanaimo, BC – May 3rd– Over the past 6 years, Connie Cyr and Karen Griffin, owners of popular ladies wear store KC’s Boutique have raised $43,700 for the work of hospice through their annual Fashion for Compassion high tea and fashion show.  Each year the event has sold out and continued to grow with this year being no exception. 221 women and 3 men spent the afternoon previewing the latest spring fashions, learning how to accessorize and bidding on a huge array of items at the Silent Auction held at the Nanaimo Curling Centre on April 22nd.

Karen and Connie believe in giving back to their community and are long-time supporters of the work of hospice.  We are only one of the not for profit organizations that have benefited from their generosity.  Their community spirit makes Nanaimo a stronger & healthier community”  stated Paul Sibley, Hospice Executive Director.  “On behalf of all our clients, volunteers and staff I want to extend a huge thank you to Karen and Connie and to all those who sponsored and attended this event.  Because of their generosity, we can continue to provide free programs and services to our clients.”
